The Engineering CO-OP position is a 4-month (renewable for additional 4-months term based on performance up to a maximum of 12months), 37.5 hours weekly within the Engineering & Facilities Group. This role will be based out of the Nordion facility in Ottawa. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Radiation Technology & innovation, the Engineering student will support the various engineering groups.
The primary responsibilities may include:
•Work independently and/or collaborate with other engineering staff to deliver project milestones
•Design concepts and modelling in 3D CAD
•Filling out project related documentation and assisting in project administration
•Sourcing components through vendors
•Hand calculations and FEA modelling
•Perform equipment testing and writing test reports
•Gathering information through conversation and job shadowing to write and revise operating procedures for Engineering and Operations personnel and
•Frequent interaction with interdisciplinary Nordion team members

Additional Requirements
•Pre-employment screening to be accepted as cleared prior to start date. Background verification may include the possibility of FBI fingerprinting
•Must complete after starting all required training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker
