About the Team 

We’re a lean, high-leverage team at the heart of our engineering organization. We ship new product features, build the APIs that power our mobile and form-builder apps, own the React front end our customers use every day, run site reliability for our services, and partner with support to unblock customers. Claude Code and other AI coding assistants are part of our daily workflow, letting a small team deliver the output of a much larger one. 

We are a flexible group that loves to try new ideas, learn from failures, and celebrate success together. We work collaboratively in short cycles and deploy production-ready code daily. 

About the Role 

We’re hiring a Software Engineer who is genuinely strong on both the front end and the back end, and who has a strong interest in leveraging AI tools to multiply their effectiveness. You’ll help set the technical direction of our product and raise the bar on how we build. 

You’ll work across our React front end, which powers our form-builder and web forms and includes a shared React component library. You’ll also do real, hands-on server-side work in Java and Spring, and as our roadmap grows increasingly server-side (search and platform work), that backend capability is a requirement, not a bonus. Above all, you work with AI rather than against it: AI-assisted development is central to how our team ships, and we want someone who pushes that frontier. 

What You’ll Do 

• Build and evolve our React front end, our form-builder, web forms, and shared component library, using React, Redux/MobX, TypeScript, Jest, and CSS, following sound functional-programming and collective-ownership principles. 

• Own front-end health: dependency and security upgrades and paying down front-end tech debt, so the codebase stays fast, safe, and easy to change. 

• Build new roadmap features across the full stack in the core TrueContext product (Java, Spring, JavaScript, MySQL, AWS), including upcoming server-side search and platform work. 

• Use AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) daily as a core part of how you ship, for scaffolding features, exploring unfamiliar code, drafting tests, and triaging production incidents. 

• Push our AI-forward SDLC frontier: evaluate and recommend new tools, agents, and practices 

• Own delivery all the way to production: observability, safe rollbacks, and overall system health, improving site reliability, security, and performance. 

• Engage fully in modern development practices: code reviews, pair programming, automated testing, and retrospectives on CI/CD and SRE trends, using tools like New Relic, SumoLogic, Snyk, and Docker. 

• Work closely with Designers to build intuitive, high-quality capabilities into our web apps. 

What You Bring (Must-Haves) 

• A deep command of modern front-end frameworks (React, JavaScript/TypeScript) with experience working on production-grade, customer-facing web applications. 

• Real, hands-on backend experience, preferably with Java and Spring, with solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and web application development. You’re a true full-stack contributor, not a front-end specialist who dabbles on the server side. 

• AI-native ways of working. You actively leverage AI tools as a force multiplier. 

• Experience with a cloud platform; we use AWS. 

• Comfort operating with ambiguity and autonomy, and genuine ownership of delivery to production. 

• A demonstrable knack for solving tough problems, with strong technical instincts and decision-making. 

• A desire to continuously learn and improve, and the ability to ramp fast (we onboard with an AI-assisted curriculum built from our own codebase and internal walkthroughs). 

• Strong collaboration and communication skills; a genuine team player. 

Salary Range 

• $100,000 - $135,000 annual base salary
