The Heat Road Technician II provides on-site service and repair of climate equipment to help our customers get the job done right. This involves the inspection, testing, and diagnosing of electrical, propane, and natural gas heaters for repair and maintenance. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test, and diagnose electrical, propane, and natural gas heaters for repair and/or regular maintenance. Responsibilities include:
Diagnose and repair natural gas, propane, diesel, and electric-fired heaters.
Perform all gas-related inspections, testing, and repairs in compliance with Ontario gas codes and TSSA regulations.
Drive safely to customer sites to perform onsite repairs.
Ensure all equipment is rental-ready and meets set quality and safety standards and ensures all equipment is in working order on customer sites.
Follow the appropriate checklist and procedures. Can read and refer to owners’ manuals and schematics.
Operate and test equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
Provide guidance to Service Technicians on the appropriate service/repairs required.
Assist in making decisions related to equipment retirement.
Possess excellent product knowledge and can effectively transfer this knowledge to customers. This includes explaining features and benefits, safe operating techniques and promoting related accessories/products.
Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner, resolving issues as they arise.
Follow all paperwork and computer procedure related to servicing of equipment.
Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.
What You Bring to the Table
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid G Class Driver’s License and clean abstract.
Must be able to lift and load/unload up to 50lbs on a regular basis
5-7 years’ experience working with electrical, air conditioning, heating, hydronics, and oil and repair and maintenance of construction heaters and equipment.
Valid TSSA Ontario Certificate of Qualification G2 required and G1 preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude, and general electrical understanding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Results-oriented, achieving high levels of individual and team performance.
Flexible with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
