We are seeking to fill an existing vacancy of an Engineering Candidate/Engineer or Technologist to work in the Land Development group based out of our Ottawa office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning and design of land development projects involving: roads, storm and sanitary sewers, watermain and stormwater management systems.  Work assignments include: class environmental assessments, servicing studies, feasibility studies; water distribution and sewage collection analysis; conceptual design; preliminary design; completion of final design and drawings including coordination of utilities and other engineering disciplines and sub-consultants. The variety of work provides challenges for the successful candidate to advance their skills and practical experience in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:  Assist with the design and implementation of land development projects Prepare design calculations, report writing, project coordination and management Prepare submissions and applications for required approvals as well as prepare cost estimates, tender documents, specifications and construction contract documents Conduct construction inspection and assist with contract administration, including preparation of requests for quotation, contract change orders and proper invoices Interact with client and external parties as required for project needs Key Position Requirements:  Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline 1-5 years of engineering design experience, preferably in the consulting environment Ability to obtain P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario or C.E.T/C.Tech designations Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Strong communication and technical writing skills Enthusiasm to work in a team structure and a willingness to guide, help and collaborate with others Understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
